philip’s old band, the maggies, reunites for a single show. spet. 25.

hey everyone.

so, while some of you might be waiting for the next Winterpills album to come out on Oct. 18 and the ensuring tours, in the meantime there is a delightful & special distraction. no, not the election or the financial meltdown. something much more pleasant.

once upon a time, before Winterpills, in a faraway place called the 1990′s, there was a shiny power-pop band in Western Massachusetts called The Maggies. they released about 7 or 8 or 9 well-received albums, toured not very much, and remained under the radar of just about everybody. they split up in 2002 after 9 years.
two years later, Philip (who was in the Maggies) formed Winterpills with some pals and went a new direction.

now, for one night only, The Maggies will reunite the love and blaze through as many tracks as they can fit into and hour and half. the lineup will consist of Stuart Wright, Max Germer and Philip, the main core of the band through several incarnations. they will be joined onstage at some point by someone special who will sing harmonies. opening up for them will be a unique formation of another local 1990′s stalwart of art-rock genius, The Mitchells.

there will be much rock. it will be loud.

this will occur at the Sierra Grille, at 41 Strong Ave in Northampton, MA, on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 pm. it will cost a mere $2.

please come.
